Eligibility

• For LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG): Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
• For Data Entry Operator (DEO Grade ‘A’) in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
• Pay Scale:
• Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200).
• Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA): Pay Level-4(Rs. 25,500-81,100).
• Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4(Rs. 25,500-81,100) and Level-5(Rs. 29,200-92,300). 
• Data Entry Operator, Grade ‘A’: Pay Level-4(Rs. 25,500-81,100).

 Selection process

SSC CHSL selection process will be on the basis of the overall performance of candidates in Tier-I, Tier-II, Tier-III Exams and Tier-IV. Tier-I & Tier-II are computer-based exams and Tier-III are Descriptive Method. The detailed process is given below.

Examination Scheme:

Tier-I: Computer Based Examination

This Exam consists of 100 questions for 200 Marks. The total time duration is 60 minutes.

subject : General Intelligence Reasoning (25 Q) , General Awareness (25 Q) , Quantitative Aptitude (25 Q) , English Comprehension (25 Q) 

Tier-II: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)

This examination is conducted for 20 minutes. 100 marks.

subject : Descriptive Paper in English/Hindi (writing of Essays/ Precis/ Letter/ Applications etc.)

Tier-IV (Skill Test):

In the Tier-IV, Computer Proficiency Test and Data Entry Skill Test will be conducted.
